Cochin Shipyard LTD
Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) signed an MoU with Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) under the initiative of the Department of Ship Technology. CSL is a listed premier Mini Ratna Company of India engaged in the maritime sector. In the last three decades the company has emerged as a forerunner in the Indian Ship Building & Ship Repair industry. The yard can build and repair the largest vessels in India and has been collaborating with educational institutions for R & D, Training, Projects etc.

MOU with SMTU
Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) signed an MoU with Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University, Russia under the initiative of the Department of Ship Technology on 12 January 2022.

MOU with Nippon Kyaji Kyokai Japan
This MOU on the “classNK Award” is concluded and entered into force on 17th August 2017 between Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in Kerala, India and Nippon Kyaji Kyokai. The head office of which is in Tokyo, Japan. The objective of the MOU is in order to help raise excellent professionals for the Indian maritime industry. ClassNK provides the “ClassNK Award” to CUSAT students. Following discussion both ClassNk and CUSAT have reached the following understanding
- Allocation of the award: The award will be given to the best three B.Tech projects.
- Course Majors of the Awardees: All of the Awardees should be from the Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding course of the Department of Ship Technology CUSAT.
- Qualification and Selection of Awardees: To receive this award the students should have a minimum CGPA of 7.0 and sincere desire to work in the shipbuilding and maritime industry on a long-term basis.
