SEMINAR ON -INLAND WATERWAYS SYSTEMS IN INDIA, ITS CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES

A one day seminar on ‘Inland Waterways Systems in India, its challenges and perspectives’ was held at department of Ship Technology CUSAT’ Vice Chancellor Dr. J. Letha inaugurated the seminar. Eminent personalities and students from maritime industry and various institutions becamepart of the Seminar. Dr C B Sudheer (convener, Assistant Professor, dept. of ship Technology CUSAT) welcomed the seminar. Dr C G Nanadakumar, Head Dept. of Ship Technology CUSAT gave the presidential address

After an introductory address to seminar by Dr CB Sudheer (convener of the function) the seminar presentations were held as follows

Sri Sujith, Traffic Superintend, State Water Transport Department, Regional office, Ernakulam – The Practical difficulties faced by Inland Water Transport for conducting services

Sri Sandith Thandasherry, CEO, NavAlt Solar and Electric Boats, Kalamassery-Replicating Successful Solar Ferry for Inland Water Transport

Pratap Chitlangiya – B Tech semester VIII student, Dept. of Ship Technology and Dr Dileep K Krishnan, Naval Architect and Retired Professor, Dept. of Ship Technology – Modernisation, Enhancement and Optimum Utilisation of Inland Water Transport in Kerala
